Peace

Peace

‘My peace I give you’ (John 14: 27)

The third and final window in this set is based on the theme of Peace. The promise that Christ will return again is represented by the dove returning with the olive branch. The suggestion of buildings (top) represents the establishment of Christ’s Kingdom on earth; the New Jerusalem. The mature tree of life on the cusp of the Earth signifies world peace; its leaves are for healing of nations.

Figures with hands linked represent the concept of unity and one body.  To the bottom of the window hands reaching across the divide represent barriers and walls being broken down as people come together.  Finally, the Omega, the last letter in the Greek alphabet, symbolises the eternal nature of God (Rev 22:13).

The dominant colours of this window are purple and violets to suggest the royal nature and power of God the Father.
