Restoration
The restoration of glass has always been an integral part of the skills offered by the studio for period and listed buildings.
The first step in this process is to assess the damage to determine the best approach for rectifying the problem. A small isolated area of damage in an otherwise stabled panel can often be repaired in situ. A major overhaul of a panel may require many hours work so the panel will have to be moved or replaced with a piece of temporary glass while the work is carried out. Fragile lead can be replaced and missing or damaged glass can be replaced with pieces as close to the original that is available on today's market.
Glass can also be prepared to be encased in double glazed units, normally this would involve some resizing of the panel (can be cut down or built up). Thus helping the continuous preservation of old panels.
